Croft completes delivery of bespoke SAFSHIELD 2773E packages to UK Client

Croft Associates Ltd has completed the delivery of two SAFSHIELD 2773E Type A packages to our UK Client. The packages are based on the GB2773A Type B(U) design and incorporate bespoke internal furniture to accommodate the client-specific contents.

In addition to the packages themselves, Croft supplied dedicated handling equipment and tooling to enable the remote loading of contents, supporting safe and efficient operations in a controlled environment.

The SAFSHIELD 2773 package comprises an inner 2774 Flask—a robust, welded stainless-steel construction incorporating 250 mm of lead shielding—housed within an outer casket (Design No. 2773) that provides thermal and impact protection. The package is designed and approved as a Type B(U) package, primarily for the transport of radioactive sources used in medical and industrial applications. Its substantial shielding capability also allows it to be deployed as a Type A package where enhanced shielding performance is required.
