The 2896 container is designed as an Industrial Package Type 2 (IP-2) in accordance with the IAEA TS-R- 1 (ST-1, Revised) Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials, 1996 Edition.

Designed to ISO standards and approved as meeting the CSC requirements.
Licensed by Croft Associates Ltd as an Industrial Package Type 2 (IP-2): Approval Certificate No GB 2896A/IP-96.
The container Design No. 2896 is a large volume reusable container for the transport of bulk quantities or large items of Radioactive Material which comply with the IAEA requirements regarding permissible
contents within IP-2 packaging (eg LSA, SCO).
The container is constructed from mild steel and has a large single door at one end, fitted with a double
seal system. The door is closed by a hydraulic closure system, and secured with a mechanical locking
mechanism. The closure system can be manual (hand operated pump) or powered with an air driver
pump. The container is finished inside and out with a durable paint finish for corrosion protection.
The container floor incorporates anchorage points to suit a range of standard handling/tie-down equipment
to suit customer needs.
ISO container Design No. 2896 is a resealable containment vessel leak tested on manufacture. The door
is fitted with a double seal (incorporating an interspace) and a seal test point. The door seal can be leak
tested in approximately 15 minutes.
Radioactive material categorised as Low Specific Activity (LSA) and/or Surface Contaminated Objects (SCO).
